Showcase: Jochen Heckmann

For the Swiss dance institution Residenzzentrum tanz+, I organised an exclusive showcase/talk with Jochen Heckmann at the Aargauer Kunsthaus.

Jochen Heckmann provided insights into his research work after his two-week residency at Residenzzentrum tanz+. First dance ideas were presented in a collage-like form. His solo explores questions surrounding the topic of growing older and how he deals with these changes as a dancer. This was followed by an audience discussion with Caroline Finn, Judith Kuckart, Angelika Ächter and Corneliu Ganea.

Jochen Heckmann was from 1999 to 2007 ballet director and chief choreographer of the Ballett-Theater Augsburg, Germany. He has been a freelance artist since 2007 and the artistic director of the Höhere Fachschule für zeitgenössischen und urbanen Bühnentanz in Zurich since 2013.
